Duties and Functions of the Liaison Office

The duties and functions of the Liaison Office are stipulated in Article 452–455 of the Batam Free Trade Zone and Free Port Authority (BP Batam) Chairman Regulation No. 3 of 2026. As a unit under the Directorate of Information Dissemination and Inter-Institutional Relations, the Liaison Office is tasked with ‘serving as an extension for the execution of BP Batam’s duties and functions in Jakarta.

In carrying out these duties, the Liaison Office performs the following functions:

  1. Management of administration and equipment
  2. Provision of inter-institutional relations support
  3. Provision of executive/leadership facilitation support
Article 452

The Liaison Office as referred to in Article 443 letter c has the duty to serve as an extension for the execution of the duties and functions of the Batam Free Trade Zone and Free Port Authority (BP Batam) in Jakarta.

Article 453

In carrying out the duties as referred to in Article 452, the Liaison Office performs the following functions:

  1. management of administration and equipment;
  2. provision of inter-institutional relations support; and
  3. provision of executive/leadership facilitation support.
Article 454

The Liaison Office as referred to in Article 443 letter c consists of:

  1. Equipment Section;
  2. Institutional Liaison Section; and
  3. Executive Facilitation Section.
Article 455
  1. The Equipment Section as referred to in Article 454 letter a has the duty to handle administrative affairs and the management of equipment, infrastructure, as well as support services to ensure the smooth operations of the Liaison Office.

  2. The Institutional Liaison Section as referred to in Article 454 letter b has the duty to perform the coordination and preparation of institutional relation facilities with government agencies, non-governmental institutions, the leadership of the Batam Free Trade Zone and Free Port Authority, and other stakeholders to support the smooth execution of agency duties.

  3. The Executive Facilitation Section as referred to in Article 454 letter c has the duty to perform the preparation, management, and service of leadership facilities, as well as other official duties assigned by the leadership.
